SLPA Commitment to training turns new leaf

The Sri Lanka Ports Authority Management's commitment to training took a new turn when the SLPA Mahapola Training Centre started training foreign candidates for the first time.

Mahapola Training Centre is the training and skills development arm of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. The new management's business plan in it's section on "Commitment to Training" envisaged to take Mahapola Training Centre to a state of the art regional training centre.

The first phase under this new program started with training of personnel from the Maldevian Port Authority. The SLPA Management will further their efforts to encourage foreign and local students in addition to learning port employees in various Port oriented disciplines and training seafarers under IMO/STCW conventions.
