Banga Barta starts feeder service at JCT

MV Banga Barta of HRC Shipping Limited called at the JCT last week under Far Shipping Line new feeder service. It is also first container vessel of a weekly caller namely Colombo-Chennai shuttle service.

MV Banga Barta is a 125.27 m container vessel built on January 1, 1983 and comes under the Bangladesh flag. The ship is of 600 TEU capacity.

HRC Shipping Limited, the largest private ship operator of Bangladesh owns the ship.

There are seven feeder vessels operated by the company (MV Banga Lanka, MV Banga Birol, MV Banga Bijoy, MV Banga Bonik, MV Banga Biraj, MV Banga Barta and MV Banga Borat) with a combined carriage capacity of 4065 TEUs.

Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman, Dileepa Wijesundara exchanges plaques with the Captain M. D. Fazlay Chowdhury and the ship MV Banga Barta berthed at JCT feeder berth. Sri Lanka Ports Authority Vice Chairman, Dr. Krishan Deheragoda, Executive Director (Business Development) Dr. Irshad Musheen and Executive Director (Technical) R. M. P. B. Wickrema were also present.
