Container feeder vessel calls at Magampura Port

The container feeder vessel MV OEL Dubai with a capacity of 1,028 TEUs entered the Ruhunu Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port recently as part of the programme for harbour pilots to familiarise themselves with the manoeuvring of vessels at the port.

The MV OEL Dubai, 151 metres in length, is a vessel owned and operated by the Dubai based feeder operator Orient Express Lines, which is one of the premier common carrier feeder operators serving the Port of Colombo.

Orient Express Lines has been serving the Port of Colombo for over two decades and has services covering most Indian Sub Continent destinations.

The OEL Dubai shuttles between the Port of Cochin in India and Colombo and calls every seven days with containers onboard to be transshipped in Colombo to be loaded onto main line vessels.
