Luxury MV Saga Ruby docks at Colombo Port

LUXURY LINER: MV Saga Ruby whose last port of call was Male in the Maldivian Islands, arrived in Colombo with 356 passengers and 396 of its crew on board, on Friday.

The ship built in 1973 started its present voyage on 26th January 2006 from Port Durban and was sailing via Zanzibar, Mombassa, Port Victoria and Male to Colombo. The vessel would be leaving to Madras in India, Port Kelang, Singapore, Sihanoukville and Laem Chabang.

SLPA Chairman, Dileepa Wijesundara and the ship's captain David Wsarden Owen exchanged plaques to mark the ship's visit to Colombo port.

The luxury passenger vessel registered in London, Uk and sails under the British flag, is 169.08 m long and possess a speed of 21 knots at its maximum strength.
